I tried creating some basic terrain texture with FxGen.
It features 4 terrain types and some fake shadows!
Since it is just a proof of concept, the 4 seperate textures it uses were just quickly hacked together.
Have fun

dedicated server
The interesting thing is when we design and architect a server or a dedicated server , we don't design it for Windows or Linux, we design it for both. We don't really care, as long as we're selling the one the customer wants. The technologies we use now a days are a combination of Linux Xen, KVM and Microsoft Hyper-V. We utilize the latest Intel VT extensions to give optimum performance.

For a person who would like
For a person who would like something artistic in the room such a carpet or if you can have a similar one for wall painting then that would look nice as well. At Area Rugs Toronto we have all kinds of rugs that you would find good as part of your home flooring.

Wear your name with pride,
Wear your name with pride, my friend because what you showed is just ingenious. I just played around with it a few minutes and I can't believe how easy it is to provide a game/program/etc with tons of maps by just changing the seed. The last time I saw brilliant map-generation was back in Worms time, but the terrain project in question rises the level up a notch because it has this magical shading added to it (like you said: 'fake shadows').
There should be a mission like "What you cannot do with FxGen?". I think we will all fail :D
I surely had fun. Thank you Houdini and thank you - makers of FxGen!
Madis
Thank you very much!
I am glad you like it that much.
Yes right, the shadows are really necessary. Tough the fake shadows I used do not look very good. We would need a compare function to create real shadow volumes. And maybe some directional blur.
Creating a Worms world in FxGen sounds like a new challenge.... stay tuned
Neat
Cool to see some different ideas on usage. :)
