I have some vague memory that this library was fairly slow... Or couldn't tile noise... Or had some other problem... :)
I don't exactly remember what it was, but I looked at it once and had some kind of issue with it. Feel free to prove me wrong :)
But indeed, FXGen has to improve its noise function. Despite that libnoise (or whatever libraries were made for this purpose), several simple solutions can be applied here:
1. multiply, add and take the rest of division, using prime numbers (i.e. make the function slightly longer and slower, a few lines instead of just two)
2. use entropy or
3. call rand()
I will include some simple algorithms in my next patch.
